THE MAX PLANCK SCHOOL OF BIOMEDICAL AI

Pursue a PhD at the interface of AI and the life sciences

The Max Planck School of Biomedical AI brings together AI and the life sciences to advance biomedical research. Its interdisciplinary PhD program trains early career researchers at the interface of both fields.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming biomedical research, creating new opportunities to understand molecular and cellular systems, predict complex biological traits, explore neural networks, and design new molecules. Developing the algorithms needed to realize this potential lies at the heart of the curriculum and research training of the Max Planck School of Biomedical AI (BMAI).

The Max Planck School of Biomedical AI brings together excellent researchers from AI, computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics, and computational life sciences. Together, they develop computational methods to advance biomedical research across disciplines – from molecular and cellular systems to complex biological traits and neural networks.
